For the adult choosing the book

Something to do.
Something to talk about.

Read the short passage together, choose colours for the scene and look for hidden stars in the full-page picture. Come back to the next part of the story whenever you’re ready.

This book works on its own. If you would like your own more detailed pictures, the separate adult edition follows the same adventure.

Read the passage as text

They tied up beside Button Bridge, where the traveller stepped onto the landing with the parcel. A duck family was crossing in front of the ferry, so nobody hurried. Above them, enormous buttons decorated the arch. One carried a star like the mark on their clue. Beyond the bridge lay the garden canal. As the last duck paddled past, the traveller climbed aboard again.

A few helpful answers.

Do I need both books?

No. Each book follows the complete adventure and can be enjoyed on its own. Choose both if you want different levels of detail for colouring side by side. They are sold separately, not as a bundle.

What is inside each book?

30 illustrated scenes, each with a short facing story passage. The children’s edition is designed for ages 5–8; the adult edition has more intricate linework. Printed colouring pages are black and white.

Does the child need to read independently?

No. An adult can read the passage aloud before you colour. The pictures can be enjoyed at your own pace.

Are pencils or pens included?

No colouring supplies are included. Try the free pages with the materials you already have.
